How It Works
  • Obtain Farm Inspection Report
    The farm where the produce is grown must be inspected by AFA Horticultural Crops Directorate (HCD) , who will issue an inspection report if in full compliance.
  • Obtain Pack House inspection report
    A facility must that produces for human, AFA Horticultural Crops Directorate (HCD) must inspect and certify that it is clean and the staff observe hygiene.
  • Register with AFA Horticultural Crops Directorate
    A trader wishing to export fresh fruits and vegetables must register as an exporter with HCD who issue an export license and export certificate.
  • Register as an exporter with Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service
    A trader wishing to export fresh fruits and vegetables must register as an exporter with HCD who issue an export license and export certificate.
  • Obtain Food Hygiene License from Port Health Services
    or by Public Health Officers in respective County governments as a requirement for facilities that process and package products that are for human consumption.
